About Vanessa
I am a therapist with over 10 years of experience and began my career as a certified alcohol and drug counselor (as they were called back then)
I love what I do and find each person's story and experience unique and inspiring.
I have so many wondering memories as a therapist. Some of my favorite are: witnessing someone finding their passion, helping a patient realize they can achieve a goal or dream they never believed they could, or being there for someone when they take their first courageous steps to
believing in themselves.

I especially love seeing someone recognize how much they matter in this world. Because every person matters so much and deserves love, kindness, and warmth.
​​I have two master's degrees:
​MA Counseling Psychology (2008)
from Pacific University in Portland, Oregon. This degree emphasized the therapeutic methodology of cognitive behavioral therapy, which is the gold-standard therapy model and is evidenced based for current diagnoses, used to reframe, restructure, and identify negative thoughts and behaviors and create more positive, healthy ones that function in relationships, work, and social aspects of life.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
MA Special Education (2021) from Arizona State University) with an emphasis in applied behavioral analysis. While I no longer use this particular methodology, I continue to use the process of utilizing evidenced based methodologies and the knowledge, education, and background in Autism spectrum disorder along with depth of understanding in the neurodiverse community has been extraordinarily valuable in creating treatment plans, teaching skills, identifying patterns and not only recognizing and empathizing with the sensory issues, overstimulation and need to recovery from social, occupational, and exhaustion of this neurotypical world.​​
